PMC laboratory provides accurate testing of blood and body fluids to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. We do coagulation, hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, immunoassay and immunohematology (blood bank) tests. The chemistry tests include basic and comprehensive metabolic tests, therapeutic drug testing and toxicology or drugs of abuse screening. The immunoassay tests include cardiac markers to aid the provider in determination if a patient with chest pain has had an acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Compatibility tests are done in the blood bank prior to patients receiving blood components. We do cultures and sensitivities to determine the bacteria that are causing an infection and what antibiotics are appropriate to fight that infection.
Our Laboratory Information System (LIS) provides order entry and a result return system for convenience and accuracy. The clinics, including outreach clinics, have results faxed to the providers via the LIS.
Our lab contracts outpatient services for clinics, home health agencies, and federal, state county and city law officials.
